V.P. debate aftermath

To my relief, not everyone saw it the way I did. Lots of fact-checking on Cheney going on, and finally the lies are being exposed. Here is one site that leaves out a few, but presents the truth clearly and with links to check for yourself.

Also, check out this column from the Washington Post's EJ Dionne, Switching Stories:
When you spend so much time torturing the truth, it's hard to keep your story straight -- or even remember what you just said.

The most remarkable moment in Tuesday's debate between Vice President Cheney and Sen. John Edwards came when Cheney issued a blanket denial of the obvious.

Edwards, who proved both his value and his loyalty to Democratic nominee John Kerry, declared that "there is no connection between Saddam Hussein and the attacks of September 11th. Period. The 9/11 Commission has said that's true. Colin Powell has said it's true. But the vice president keeps suggesting that there is."

What Cheney said next was, literally, incredible: "I have not suggested there's a connection between Iraq and 9/11."

This is the same Cheney who, just minutes before, in the very same debate, had defended the attack on Iraq by declaring flatly that Saddam Hussein "had an established relationship with al Qaeda." Hello? If that is not a "suggestion" of a connection, what is?

Well, this: On Sept. 14, 2003, Cheney said Iraq was at the heart of "the geographic base of the terrorists who have had us under assault now for many years, but most especially on 9/11."

If the Cheney-Edwards debate made nothing else clear, it is that the central issue in this presidential election is becoming the administration's lack of credibility and its tendency to say whatever is convenient to make whatever case it is trying to make.
[Update: Here is Newsweek's report on Cheney's lies, "Rewriting History"]

The Student Bill of Rights

I. The Mission of the University.

The central purposes of a University are the pursuit of truth, the discovery of new knowledge through scholarship and research, the study and reasoned criticism of intellectual and cultural traditions, the teaching and general development of students to help them become creative individuals and productive citizens of a pluralistic democracy, and the transmission of knowledge and learning to a society at large. Free inquiry and free speech within the academic community are indispensable to the achievement of these goals. The freedom to teach and to learn depend upon the creation of appropriate conditions and opportunities on the campus as a whole as well as in the classrooms and lecture halls. These purposes reflect the values -- pluralism, diversity, opportunity, critical intelligence, openness and fairness -- that are the cornerstones of American society.

II. Academic Freedom

1. The Concept. Academic freedom and intellectual diversity are values indispensable to the American university. From its first formulation in the General Report of the Committee on Academic Freedom and Tenure of the American Association of University Professors, the concept of academic freedom has been premised on the idea that human knowledge is a never-ending pursuit of the truth, that there is no humanly accessible truth that is not in principle open to challenge, and that no party or intellectual faction has a monopoly on wisdom. Therefore, academic freedom is most likely to thrive in an environment of intellectual diversity that protects and fosters independence of thought and speech. In the words of the General Report, it is vital to protect “as the first condition of progress, [a] complete and unlimited freedom to pursue inquiry and publish its results.”

Because free inquiry and its fruits are crucial to the democratic enterprise itself, academic freedom is a national value as well. In a historic 1967 decision (Keyishian v. Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York ) the Supreme Court of the United States overturned a New York State loyalty provision for teachers with these words: “Our Nation is deeply committed to safeguarding academic freedom, [a] transcendent value to all of us and not merely to the teachers concerned.” In Sweezy v. New Hampshire, (1957) the Court observed that the “essentiality of freedom in the community of American universities [was] almost self-evident.”

2. The Practice. Academic freedom consists in protecting the intellectual independence of professors, researchers and students in the pursuit of knowledge and the expression of ideas from interference by legislators or authorities within the institution itself. This means that no political, ideological or religious orthodoxy will be imposed on professors, researchers and students through the hiring or tenure or termination process, or through the grading system or through the control of the classroom or any other administrative means. Nor shall legislatures impose any such orthodoxy through their control of the university budget.

From its very first statement on academic freedom, the university community has recognized the vulnerability of students in particular to political and ideological abuses of the university as an institution. The 1915 General Report admonished faculty to avoid “taking unfair advantage of the student’s immaturity by indoctrinating him with the teacher’s own opinions before the student has had an opportunity fairly to examine other opinions upon the matters in question, and before he has sufficient knowledge and ripeness of judgment to be entitled to form any definitive opinion of his own.”

In The 1940 Statement of Principles on Academic Freedom and Tenure, the American Association of University Professors declared: “Teachers are entitled to freedom in the classroom in discussing their subject, but they should be careful not to introduce into their teaching controversial matter which has no relation to their subject.” In a 1970 clarification and re-endorsement of this principle, the AAUP said: “The intent of this statement is not to discourage what is ‘controversial.’ Controversy is at the heart of the free academic inquiry, which the entire statement is designed to foster. The passage serves to underscore the need for teachers to avoid persistently intruding material which has no relation to their subject.” (“1970 Interpretative Comments,” endorsed by the 56th annual association meeting as association policy.)

In 1967, the AAUP’s Joint Statement on Rights and Freedoms of Students affirmed the inseparability of “the freedom to teach and freedom to learn.” In the words of the report, “Students should be free to take reasoned exception to the data or views offered in any course of study and to reserve judgment about matters of opinion.”

Professors are hired to teach all students, not just students who share their political, religious and philosophical beliefs. It is essential therefore, that professors and lecturers not force their opinions about philosophy, politics and other contestable issues on students in the classroom and in all academic environments. This is a cardinal principle of academic freedom laid down by the American Association of University Professors.

In an academic environment professors are in a unique position of authority vis-à-vis their students. The use of academic incentives and disincentives to advance a partisan or sectarian view creates an environment of indoctrination which is unprofessional and contrary to the educational mission. It is a violation of students’ academic freedom. The creation of closed, political fiefdoms in colleges, programs or departments, is the opposite of academic freedom, and does not deserve public subsidy or private educational support.

Therefore, to ensure the integrity of the educational process and to protect the principle of intellectual diversity, the following principles and procedures shall be observed. These principles fully apply only to public universities and to private universities that present themselves as bound by the canons of academic freedom. Private institutions choosing to restrict academic freedom on the basis of creed have an obligation to be as explicit as is possible about the scope and nature of these restrictions.

1. Students will be graded solely on the basis of their reasoned answers and appropriate knowledge of the subjects and disciplines they study, not on the basis of their political or religious beliefs.

2. Curricula and reading lists in the humanities and social sciences should reflect the uncertainty and unsettled character of all human knowledge in these areas by providing students with dissenting sources and viewpoints where appropriate. While teachers are and should be free to pursue their own findings and perspectives in presenting their views, they should consider and make their students aware of other viewpoints. Academic disciplines should welcome a diversity of approaches to unsettled questions.

3. Exposing students to the spectrum of significant scholarly viewpoints on the subjects examined in their courses is a major responsibility of faculty. Faculty will not use their courses for the purpose of political, ideological, religious or anti-religious indoctrination.

4. Selection of speakers, allocation of funds for speakers programs and other student activities will observe the principles of academic freedom and promote intellectual pluralism.

5. An environment conducive to the civil exchange of ideas being an essential component of a free university, the obstruction of invited campus speakers, destruction of campus literature or other effort to obstruct this exchange will not be tolerated.

6. Knowledge advances when individual scholars are left free to reach their own conclusions about which methods, facts, and theories have been validated by research. Academic institutions and professional societies formed to advance knowledge within an area of research, maintain the integrity of the research process, and organize the professional lives of related researchers serve as indispensable venues within which scholars circulate research findings and debate their interpretation. To perform these functions adequately, academic institutions and professional societies should maintain a posture of organizational neutrality with respect to the substantive disagreements that divide researchers on questions within, or outside, their fields of inquiry.

Thanks for these insightful sites that show exactly what these guys were lieing about. It still isn't enough to change what will probably be my vote for the Libertarian Badnarik. He seems to be the most dedicated to ending the war on drugs, social security (I figure we might as well end it now rather than have it go bankrupt thirty years down the road), unnecessary militant wars, unnecessary restictions of our civil liberties, and high taxes. He's a true conservative unlike all the other ass holes who claim to be.

II. Academic Freedom

1. The Concept .

In a historic 1967 decision ( Keyishian v.

2. The Practice . Academic freedom consists in protecting the intellectual independence of professors, researchers and students in the pursuit of knowledge and the expression of ideas from interference by legislators or authorities within the institution itself. This means that no political, ideological or religious orthodoxy will be imposed on professors and researchers through the hiring or tenure or termination process, or through any other administrative means by the academic institution. Nor shall legislatures impose any such orthodoxy through their control of the university budget.

This protection includes students. From the first statement on academic freedom, it has been recognized that intellectual independence means the protection of students – as well as faculty – from the imposition of any orthodoxy of a political, religious or ideological nature. The 1915 General Report admonished faculty to avoid “taking unfair advantage of the student’s immaturity by indoctrinating him with the teacher’s own opinions before the student has had an opportunity fairly to examine other opinions upon the matters in question, and before he has sufficient knowledge and ripeness of judgment to be entitled to form any definitive opinion of his own.” In 1967, the AAUP’s Joint Statement on Rights and Freedoms of Students reinforced and amplified this injunction by affirming the inseparability of “the freedom to teach and freedom to learn.” In the words of the report, “Students should be free to take reasoned exception to the data or views offered in any course of study and to reserve judgment about matters of opinion.”

Therefore, to secure the intellectual independence of faculty and students and to protect the principle of intellectual diversity, the following principles and procedures shall be observed.

These principles fully apply only to public universities and to private universities that present themselves as bound by the canons of academic freedom. Private institutions choosing to restrict academic freedom on the basis of creed have an obligation to be as explicit as is possible about the scope and nature of these restrictions.

1. All faculty shall be hired, fired, promoted and granted tenure on the basis of their competence and appropriate knowledge in the field of their expertise and, in the humanities, the social sciences, and the arts, with a view toward fostering a plurality of methodologies and perspectives. No faculty shall be hired or fired or denied promotion or tenure on the basis of his or her political or religious beliefs.

2. No faculty member will be excluded from tenure, search and hiring committees on the basis of their political or religious beliefs.

3. Students will be graded solely on the basis of their reasoned answers and appropriate knowledge of the subjects and disciplines they study, not on the basis of their political or religious beliefs.

4. 6. Selection of speakers, allocation of funds for speakers programs and other student activities will observe the principles of academic freedom and promote intellectual pluralism.

7. An environment conducive to the civil exchange of ideas being an essential component of a free university, the obstruction of invited campus speakers, destruction of campus literature or other effort to obstruct this exchange will not be tolerated.

8. Knowledge advances when individual scholars are left free to reach their own conclusions about which methods, facts, and theories have been validated by research. CLINTON-WITNESS LIFE EXPECTANCY HITS ALL TIME LOW . . With the death at age 29 of Little Rock transmission shop owner Johnny Lawhon, the average life expectancy for witnesses against Bill Clinton has dropped dramatically.
Lawhon, who last year discovered a Madison Guaranty Savings and Loan cashiers check made out to Bill Clinton in the trunk of an abandoned car, died in a car crash early Sunday morning. He becomes the second witness connected to that evidence to die within a month.

The first, former Madison Guaranty owner James McDougal, was found dead in his jail cell just three weeks prior to Lawhon's fatal accident. Prior to Lawhon's death, insurance industry experts had calculated the average life expectancy for Clinton scandal witnesses at a full 49.3 years.
But given Mr. Lawhon's relative youth, Clinton-witness actuarial tables have been revised down to a median AOD (age of death) of just 44.8 years.

That figure may plummet even further, should actuarial experts decide to include the death of former White House intern Mary Caity Mahoney, who was shot to death last year at the age of 25. Given this trend, industry sources say they may begin screening life insurance candidates for a new risk factor - a past or present, direct or indirect association with Bill Clinton.
Such a risk factor might be weighed in the manner insurers currently evaluate those who participate in high-risk activities like skydiving, motorcycling or heavy smoking.

Suzanne Coleman
committed Arkancide
Rumor of affair with Clinton, her then law professor Died of a "suicide" with gunshot wound to the back of her head. No autopsy performed.
Was pregnant at time of her death. Rumor she claimed it was Clinton's child, we will never know the truth unless she is exhumed, then DNA testing could be done.
Clinton has a lot of suicidal friends and associates who prefer to drive a bullet in from the back of their heads and it looks like Suzanne Coleman is one of them

Mary Caitrin Mahoney

? Murdered July 6, 1997
An attractive 25 year old woman, Mary was a former "Clinton White House intern working as the Assistant Manager at a Starbuck’s coffee shop in Georgetown.
In the pre-trial publicity surrounding Paula Jones lawsuit, and days after Newsweek's Mike Isikoff had dropped hints that a "former White House staffer" was about to go public with her story of sexual harassment at the White House, gunmen entered the Starbuck's while the crew, ( Mary Mahoney, 25, Emory Allen Evans, 25 and Aaron David Goodrich,18) were cleaning up after closing.
Mary's two co-workers were taken to a room and shot. Mary was brutally shot five times, no money was taken. In March 1999 Carl Cooper, 29 was arrested (on an unrelated warrant) based on a tip came in to "Americas Most Wanted" hotline after the story aired for a third time.
Cooper, arrested for a 1996 shooting of a "Police Officer", confessed to the murders after questioning Monica Lewinsky surfaced as a reluctant witness in the Paula Jones lawsuit and lied in her deposition!

Monica told Vernon Jordan " I don't want to wind-up like Mary Mahoney" That statement suggests Monica's fear that Mary's murder was somehow connected to the Clinton White House Mary Mahoney was a Lesbian and was among 6 who organized a gay group in baltimore, called the avengers. If any sexual advance had been made by Clinton toward Mary, such conduct would have been an issue ...

Eric Butera
Informant
Offered information regarding the Starbucks murders but was sent into a known crack house to make an undercover buy. There, he was beaten to death, taking with him what he knew of Mary Mahoney’s execution

Judy Gibbs
Burned to death
Former Penthouse Pet and call girl counted Bill Clinton among her clients Agreed to help police in an investigation into Arkansas cocaine trafficking in exchange for dismissal of criminal charges Was burned to death shortly thereafter

Vincent Foster
White House Counsel
died: 7/20/93 - Found dead in Ft. Marcy Park in Washington, DC, of a supposed suicide by gunshot.
A few days After his office had been entered by Whitehouse staff and materials removed, a letter of resignation as reported found, torn into several pieces, in his previously searched briefcase. The gun which is said he used to kill himself was still in his hand according to later accounts, but the person who first found the body reported that there was no gun.
Many irregularities surround the death and the investigation of it.
Accounts of Vince Foster despondent over his criticized role in firing of seven White House travel office workers has been suggested to be a factor for why he would kill himself.

A more likely reason he would have had for taking his own life may have been his role in the Murders of the Branch Dividians.
Foster may have been killed in the parking lot at the Whitehouse and then his body was moved Foster was also from Hope, Ark., like Clinton, and also worked for the Rose Law firm with Hillary Clinton, whom it has been rumored he had been having an affair with.
Foster had intimate knowledge of the Clinton's personal finances was involved in an investigation of their finances, also working on a report on Waco and reportedly made a phone call to Hillary Clinton in Little Rock, just hours before his death. After his body was discovered FBI gents were detained from entering the Whitehouse office of Vince Foster, until staffers had completed the task of shreading fosters documents and other files.
Kenneth Starr's investigation into the Foster suicide concluded that Foster killed himself, but evidence points to murder.

Jerry Parks
Head of Clinton's Gubernatorial security team in Little Rock.
died: 9/26/93
Gunned down in his car at an intersection near a Mexican restaurant at the edge of Little Rock. He was hit by 10 bullets from a 9-mm semiautomatic handgun His family reported that shortly before his death, they were being followed by unknown persons, and their home had been broken into.
Parks had been compiling a dossier on Clinton's illicit activities. The dossier was stolen.
Gary Parks, Jerry's son claims that Vince Foster knew of his fathers files on Clinton's indiscretions and that his father had tried to blackmail the Clinton Campaign. The Little Rock police dismissed the notion of a politically motivated hit as "unsubstantiated"

Paul Wilcher
Washington attorney investigating government corruption died: 6/22/93
Found dead on a toilet in his Washington apartment. No cause of death was ever determined. At the time of his death, he was investigating connections between the "October surprise" during the 1980 federal election campaign and drug and gun-running out of Mena, Arkansas, as well as the BATF assault on the Waco Texas Branch Davidians
Was planning on producing a television documentary on his findings. He had delivered a 99-page affidavit to Janet Reno three weeks before his death. Had information on CIA secret operations and the Dept. of Justice

Ron Miller
an unusual death
Ron provided key evidence that convicted Nora and Gene Lum for laundering Clinton campaign donations died in manner so strange that his doctors ordered special postmortem tests Ron had gone from perfect health to death in just one week! Results of the test have never been released, but toxicologist familiar with the case suggest that Miller's symptoms re consistent with Ricin, a cold war assassin's poison

Sandy Hume
Journalist
Son of Bret Hume, commentator for Fox TV News and a previous Journalist for The Hill magazine, newspaper about Congress for Congress. Hume was the reporter of a 1997 story regarding frictions between Gingrich and Paxon Hume was found dead February 22nd 1998 in his Arlington, Virginia home from a suicide. 24 hours after Humes death, Representative Paxon announced his resignation. A media blackout of this story is in effect.
His death came soon after reports that "a reporter" was about to confirm the White House's use of investigators to dig up dirt on critics. The offices of the American Spectator magazine, a conservative publication, had previously been broken into and files had been disturbed. If there is a connection between these events then a crime of greater magnitude than Watergate may have occurred.

Kathy Furguson
Ex-wife of Trooper Danny Furguson died: circa 5/94
Died of a supposed gunshot suicide in her living room. There was a suicide note found by the body. However, friends were surprised at having noticed nothing wrong previously. And even more curious, found nearby were several packed suitcases, as if she expected she was going somewhere.
She was the former wife of Trooper Danny Ferguson, who is the Arkansas State Trooper alleged to have escorted Paula Corbin Jones to the hotel room for her alleged episode of sexual harassment by then-Governor Clinton. Danny's ex-wife was reported as a possible corroborating witness for Ms. Jones.

Florence Martin
Accountant subcontracting to CIA Executed October 1994
bookeeper for Barry Seal was found sprawled face down across her bed. A pillow was placed behind her head then shot three times "execution style" Similar to the Mary Mahoney killing The home and belongings were left undisturbed, $20 remained in her billfold in plain view of the crime scene. Firearms belonging to her late husband were untouched. There was no evidence of a robbery. a reward is offered!

Gandy Baugh
Attorney representing Mr. Lassater in a case concerning alleged financial misconduct died: circa 5/94 Died in an alleged suicide by jumping out of a window of a multi-story building.
Mr. Lassater was a close associate of Gov. Clinton, and was later indicted on drug related charges, among other things, AND was pardoned by Clinton.

William Colby
April 28, 1996
Former Director of the CIA Editor of "Strategic Investment" finacial newsletter, consultant to many corporations and former CIA Director. William Colby joined the list of those who by fate, crossed paths with Clinton, then died.
Strategic Investment hired three handwriting experts to investigate a letter of resignation, referenced as the Foster suicide note. This document was torn in many pieces, void of fingerprints and found in Fosters brief case after a previous search of the brief case failed to result in it's discovery(but then it's not like they missed a single document-just many torn fragments of one!, "who's on first?")
The handwriting experts compared this document with that of other Foster writings and concluded the note to be a poor forgery.
William Colby, was an extremely orderly man, according to his family and friends. The last moments of his life are out of character. The AP first misquoted Mrs. Colby as having spoken to her husband on the day of his death and stated he was not feeling well but he was going canoeing anyway. The AP later reported that Mrs. Colby had said her husband was feeling fine and never mentioned any plans to go canoeing.
What he had done that evening was call his wife, said he planed to eat dinner, take a shower then go to bed. Investigators suggest that he left his dinner (clams and white wine) went out in his canoe in the middle of the night on a rough and windy river without a lifejacket (not his usual routine) then had a heart attack slip into the water and drowned.

The Air Force canceled their investigation.

Cpl Eric S. Fox
Crewman for Marine One, the Presidential Helicopter
Fox, 28, a native of Fort Wayne, Ind., was on leave at the time of his death. Fox was assigned to Marine Helicopter Squadron One at Quantico, VA. He was shot in the head, and declared a suicide March 19, 1999 Fox's body and a gun were discovered in his car, a black 1994 Nissan 300 ZX Police said they believe Fox was driving west on Interstate 68 when he ran off the road, hit a guard rail and damaged the front and rear ends of his car before going on to a school, Bruceton School.
Police said they found a crash site along the highway between the Maryland - West Virginia line and the Hazelton exit. Items at the site matched Fox's car, which had an Indiana license plate.

allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself at the gravesite of his fiancee Officer Shelton was the fiancee of Kathy Ferguson, who was the ex-wife of Trooper Danny Ferguson. Kathy Ferguson also committed "suicide" 6/94 when she shot herself in her living room. Oddly, next to the body were her packed bags, as if she was expecting to be going somewhere.
Danny Ferguson is a co-defendant along with Bill Clinton in Paula Corbin Jones's sexual harassment suit. His ex-wife was reported as a corroborating witness for Ms. Jones. The Jones suite was thrown out by Judge Right, a former Clinton law student.
Judge Right allowed a very narrow definition for "sexual relations" prior to Clinton giving his testimony under oath.
After Clinton's impeachment, Judge Right fined Clinton for use of advasive language in her court room Paula Jones won an appeal but then settled out of court

Barbera Wise
Commerce Department Staffer died: 11/29/96

The x-rays were reported missing then never to have existed but photos of the x-rays exist! There are two versions of what the conditions were and how the accident happened, the official version puts the blame on faulty beacons flight crew error and a 9 degree variance from the flight plan. Some remains of the crash victims were burnt beyond recognition and some claim weather conditions obscured visibility. Shelly Kelly survived the crash was not burnt or ripped apart, but died of a laceration 3-hours after the crash, thus reinforcing the other version of a low impact crash. Along with Ron Brown's death died all the details of his work performed after Clinton had transferred authority to the Commerce Department to approve sensitive technological transfers under the guide of free trade, including the satellite deal to china that has compromised our national security.
Brown had stated publicly his willingness to make a deal with prosecutors, but before that would happen President Clinton sent him on his fatal mission...
Ron Brown's death brought to an end the investigations into the Commerce Department.

Terrance Yeakey
Died 1996
First police officer to arrive at the Murray Building following the OK City bombing One year later, his patrol car was found abandoned along a dirt road, the front seat covered with blood. Officer Yeakey himself was found a short distance away, with cut wounds on both arms and his throat, plus a gunshot through the head. No gun was ever found, and the death was ruled a suicide. Carlos Ghigliotti
Key Expert Witness in the Waco investigation
Found compelling evidence that an FBI agent fired shots during the final showdown at the Branch Davidian compound. Police say they are investigating the death as a murder. "We're investigating it as a homicide," said Laurel, Md., police spokesman Jim Collins of the death of Carlos Ghigliotti, an expert in analysis of infrared film technology who had worked for Rep. Dan Burtons House Government Reform Committee during its investigation of the events surrounding the government siege of the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas, in 1993.
Ghigliottis badly decomposed body was discovered April 29, 2000 at his house, where he operated Infrared Technologies Inc., Police were alerted by his building manager, who hadn't seen him for several weeks and was concerned about him.
October, 1999, Ghigliotti, a nationally recognized expert in thermal imaging and videotape, told Burtons committee that his analysis of tapes at Waco indicated that an FBI agent fired shots at the Branch Davidian Mt. Carmel compound on April 19, the day the siege ended with the incineration of more than 80 men, women and children. His analysis was challenged by the FBI.
He remained a key figure in the ongoing probe of the incident, especially since preliminary findings by British experts retained by the court hearing the Branch Davidian $100 million wrongful death lawsuit alleged that there had been no gunfire, a finding diametrically opposite from Ghigliotti’s, and one he was certain to challenge. His death leaves a gaping hole in the investigation, since he was the most important and skilled expert in the field familiar with the evidence in the Waco case.
The lead plaintiff’s attorney in the case, Michael Caddell, told the Washington Post that he’d been in touch with Ghigliotti, who he said he planned to retain because of his expertise and the fact that his first expert in the field was no longer available due to a stroke.

Later it was determined that Kevin died from a crushed skull prior to being placed on the tracks
The FBI has investigated this crime and the case remains open Found dead along with Kevin Ives
Their lifeless bodies were struck by a train at 4 A.M., The train crew observed the two boys lying between the rails with a rifle beside one of the boys and both partially covered by a pale green tarp, both were facing straight up, neither moved as the train, blowing it's horn approched at 55 miles per hour, they were struck and chopped up under the train.
The train crew noticed that the blood of the victims was purple and not red and had not flowed out of the body parts, there was very little blood. 13 minutes after the report of the accident, Deputies of the Saline County sheriffs office arrived and made the first crucial mistake while mapping the scene Deputy Chuck Tallent used the corner of a train car for the reference point in marking locations of evidence, once the train was moved the diagram of where each piece of evidence was found became worthless.

Following his fall from CIA grace, Barry was sentenced to live at a Rehab Center by a judge who also prohibited Barry Seal to either have any guns or to employ any bodyguards. Corruption doesn't become any more obvious than this. Barry was gunned down with machine gun fire in the Baton Rouge, Louisiana Salvation Army Rehab parking lot.
In violation of the court order, Barry had hired bodyguards who worked a rotation schedule. But the bodyguard who was to be there when Barry was killed never showed up.
That bodyguard, according to video producer Daniel Hopsicker was a former associate (meaning drug pilot) of Barry's named William "Bear" Bottoms. Bottoms continues to this very day to prowl the internet insisting that there never was any drug running operation at Mena, Arkansas

Finally someone who knows about Academic Freedom. It's refreshing to hear a voice of reason in college. I thought college would be a place of free thinking but it becomes more claustrophobic on a daily basis. Perhaps one day college will no longer be a pulpit and once again be an institution of learning and enlightenment. (I can dream can't I?)
