Also, this from the Museum of Television and Radio in NYC:
The Presidency
Political Image-Making and Television
July 2 to November 7, 2004
As American culture has grown ever more cynical and media savvy—saturated with mockumentaries and behind-the-scenes exposés—the process of political image-making has undergone particular scrutiny. Much of the American public no longer views our presidential candidates as emblems of integrity, but rather like any other commodity: packaged, branded, and sold to voters through advertisements and public-relations extravaganzas. As the highly anticipated 2004 election approaches, the idea of what candidates are really made of, and how they get made, is as important as ever. This summer and fall, the Museum will present a collection of programs addressing the process of political image-making in the television age.
